LORIS -- Horry County police are responding to an attempted bank robbery at the Horry County State Bank on Highway 701 in Loris.

The suspects were wearing bandanas on their faces when they tried to rush the back door of the bank as an employee tried to leave.

Horry County police Sgt. Robert Kegler said the employee was able to slam the door closed and put the bank on lockdown.

According to the initial dispatch report, no weapons were seen.

The suspects ran off on foot.

Police say the men should not be approached, but if you have any information about the robbery, call 911.
