Myrtle Beach is just one night away from the South Carolina GOP debate among the Republican presidential candidates.

Two participants got an early start on the Grand Strand to reinforce why voters should support them.

Sunday morning the Free South Carolina Faith and Freedom Coalition held a prayer breakfast at the Myrtle Beach Sheraton. Texas Governor Rick Perry and Senator Rick Santorum both attended. While they showed up at different times they were seated across from each other at the same table.

Perry spent the time appealing to the audience by sharing religious stories about growing up and asking them to choose the candidate they trust.

Santorum made remarks urging those that he was the best alternative to President Barack Obama.

"Friends that's what leadership is really all about. who are you going to trust to take you across the fall? Who are you going to trust that has the steady step?" Perry said.

"If we stand up for the principals that make this country great, people ask how are we going to make this country better? Remind every American who we are. This president reminds us about what divides us," Santorum said.

Santorum also asked those at the event to vote their conscience. Perry pleaded with audience members to vote with the candidate who they trust the most.
