The man who deputies say failed to stop for blue lights and then crashed into a tree and died, was wanted in two counties.

Marion County Sheriff Mark Richardson says Kevin Maurice Dickerson, 30, passed deputies at a high rate of speed on Bluff Road in Marion on Thursday.

The sheriff says deputies put on blue lights, but Dickerson kept going.

Richardson says his officers lost sight of Dickerson and when they caught up with him, he had already crashed on South Main Street.

He died from injuries suffered in the crash.

Dickerson had warrants on forgery charges with the Florence County Sheriff's Office, Bennettsville Police Department and Marlboro County Sheriff's Office.

Dickerson was also wanted on Forgery Charges out of Scotland County, North Carolina.
