Communications officials with Heinz tell NewsChannel 15 they're looking to hire an additional 50 people to work the second shift at their Florence County plant.

Officials say there are already 150 employees working the first shift.

Heinz broke ground in Florence County in 2008 on its frozen meals division facility at the Pee Dee Touchstone Energy Commerce City off Hwy 327.

Company officials were expected to initially hire 350 people to work there, but in 2009 announced they were holding off on hiring because of the economy.

The company resumed hiring last August.

We're told Heinz is taking applications through the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce's Florence office.
