The Florence Airport now has a new state-of-the-art terminal.

The new $8 million concourse is finished. It has four gates and is five times larger than the old terminal.

"We now have a concourse that will operate like every other commercial airport in the United States. We have restrooms and vending. You'll be able to go through screening, get a cup of coffee, go to the bathroom before you actually get on the airplane," said Hartsell Rogers, the airport director.

The departure lounge in the terminal can seat up to 250 people.

The second phase of the project includes expanding the east airport apron by four acres.
