Bennettsville police responded around 10:22 p.m. Thursday to Amelia Street in reference to a shooting.

Officers discovered Patrick McLaurin, 45, lying on the ground with what appeared to be multiple gun shot wounds.

He was taken to Marlboro Park Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators are still looking into the shooting, but they have made one arrest. Tyrone Quick, 45, turned himself in to police around 9:20 a.m. Friday.

Police are still trying to determine a motive.
