Laurinburg police arrested Richard Barnwell ,19, and Jaleesa Manning, 24, Wednesday night in the Washington Park area.

Police say both suspects tried to rob Manning's cousin who had come to Laurinburg to see her.

Officers say Barnwell shot the victim four times with a small caliber handgun.

The victim is listed in stable condition at a North Carolina hospital.

Barnwell and Manning are charged with attempted murder, attempted armed robbery and felony conspiracy.

Bond for Barnwell is set at $500,000 and Manning's is set at $250,000.

They're being held at the Scotland County Detention Center.
