Georgetown County deputies arrested Damien Chevern Grate, 21, of Pawleys Island for Attempted Murder, Pointing and Presenting a Firearm, Financial Transaction Fraud and Receiving Stolen Goods.

Deputies say someone called them to let them know a wanted man was in a room of Motel 6 in Pawleys Island about 9 a.m. Friday.

The SWAT team made its way into the hotel room and arrested Grate. As they searched the room, deputies say they found a pistol that was reported stolen from Horry County.

Grate was taken to the Georgetown County Detention Center where he is awaiting a bond hearing.
