Volunteers needed for Scott World Firefighter Combat Challenge

November 14-19, more than a thousand firefighters will travel to Myrtle Beach for the Scott World Firefighter Combat Challenge.

The Horry County Fire Rescue Department is asking for volunteers to help staff the event.

ESPN once called the challenge the "toughest two minutes in sports."

The Scott World Firefighter Combat Challenge is a way for firefighters to showcase their talents, skills and athleticism.

Thirty volunteers are needed per day. Volunteer opportunities will include, course resetting, registration, competitor rehab and many more.

Monday, November 14, 2011 9:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Tuesday, November 15, 2011 9:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Wednesday, November 16, 2011 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Thursday, November 17, 2011 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Friday, November 18, 2011 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Saturday, November 19, 2011 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Horry County Fire Rescue says the event will bring firefighters from all over the US and Canada and is now attracting competitors from countries like New Zealand, Germany, Argentina, Chile, and South Africa.
