MYRTLE BEACH -- Former South Carolina Lt. Governor Andre Bauer appears poised to make a run for the new 7th Congressional District seat which includes most of the Grand Strand and Pee Dee.

Bauer has filed paperwork with the election commission and formed an Andre Bauer for Congress committee listing his address as Myrtle Beach.

He tells NewsChannel 15 that he's excited by what he's hearing from people when he talks to them about a possible run.

Bauer says an official announcement could come in the next several weeks.
