A man on a moped who was involved in a crash with an 18-wheeler early Thursday afternoon has died.

Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard says Joseph Junior Keel, 51, of Horry County died at the hospital just before 7 p.m. Thursday.

The crash happened at Highway 57 and Tallwood Road. The 18-wheeler was trying to pass Keel when the accident occurred, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol. Troopers have yet to determine how they collided.
