Woman found in burned car died from the smoke

A woman whose body was found in a burning car Monday died from breathing in the smoke.

Horry County Deputy Coroner Tony Hendricks says Ruby Crosby Outlaw, 66, of Mullins died of carbon monoxide asphyxiation.

Hendricks says Outlaw has a history of seizures. He says she had a seizure while driving, ran into the field, hit a ditchback and the car caught on fire.

Firefighters were called the field on Pee Dee Road North near Galivants Ferry Monday afternoon.
