CONWAY -- In the event that an evacuation is ordered for Hurricane Irene, here is the shelter information we've been given by the American Red Cross, Coastal Chapter.

In case of a voluntary evacuation:

In Horry County, Loris Elementary and South Conway Elementary will be open.

In Georgetown County, Pleasant Hill Elementary will be open.

In case of a mandatory evacuation:

In Horry County, Aynor Elementary, Aynor High, Green Sea Floyds Elementary, Green Sea Floyds High, Conway Elementary, Conway High, Loris High, Pee Dee Elementary, and Whittemore Park Middle School will be open.

In Georgetown County, Andrews Elementary will be open.

If you go to a shelter, you're asked to bring law chairs or cots, prescriptions, flashlights and personal hygiene items.

You are not allowed to bring pets, alcohol or drugs, or weapons.
