Darlington County deputies arrested Douglas Gregg in June for the death of his cousin Levi Gregg. They charged him with murder, kidnapping, grand larceny and robbery.

Monday, Darlington County deputies charged him with murder in the death of Moses Smith, 78, in July 2003. Captain Andy Locklair says Gregg burglarized Smith's home in the Dovesville community and robbed him in June 2003. Locklair says he tried to kill Smith then, but Smith survived. Depuites say Gregg broke into Smith's home the following month and stabbed him to death. He is charged with murder, burglary, attempted murder and robbery in Smith's death.
