Postal Service hiring rural carriers

The United States Postal Service will start hiring rural carriers starting Tuesday. Starting salary is $19.45 per hour. Applications may only be made online. Post Offices will not accept applications.
Jobs are open all all post offices with ZIP codes 290-6, but employees are especially needed Lexington, Spartanburg, Myrtle Beach, Newberry, Charleston and Sumter.
The positions offer part-time work when regular carriers have scheduled days off or take vacation days. The employees also sell stamps, supplies, and money orders.
Many times, people who take these positions end up working full-time.
Position Requirements:
Rural Carrier Associates must be available to work on an as needed basis; must have valid state drivers license from state of residence; minimum of two years driving experience with good driving record; provide reliable vehicle for delivery of mail; meet personal and medical suitability; and pass road tests administered by Postal Service examiners.
They must provide reliable vehicle for delivery of mail means a vehicle with automatic transmission and without a large console in the middle that would allow you to pass mail out the passenger window into the customer's mailbox.
Employment Eligibility Requirements:
Military service: Veterans must treat military service as prior employment and submit copy 4 of form DD 214, Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty.
Employment history: Applicant must provide the names of all employers (including current employers) for the 10-year period immediately preceding the date of application.
