Coast RTA has reached another record year in ridership. Reports show that Coast RTA carried 723,892 passengers in FY2011, which is up from last year's figure of 576,908. The additional 147,074 passengers represent a twenty-five percent increase.

"Since its inception, Coast RTA's mission has been to provide affordable, reliable mass public transportation to the residents and tourists of Horry and Georgetown counties", stated Myers Rollins, General Manager. We've continued to provide this service for over 28 years".

Coast RTA will celebrate their achievement at Thursday night's Pelicans game at the BBT Coastal Field starting at 7:05 p.m. The Piggly Wiggly Greenbax program has partnered with Coast RTA, and their mascot "Mr. Pig", will be at the gate to greet the fans alongside a new Coast RTA bus.
