Beachfront pool enclosures bill moves to US Senate

Anamendment that would allow outdoor pool enclosures on the beach has passed on the U.S. House floor.

Right now, a Federal Emergency Management Agency regulation prohibits the use of outdoor pool enclosures at the beach.

FEMA argued the enclosures were a hazard in the case of a hurricane.

But the hospitality industry says the enclosures are only used in the winter, when hurricanes aren't a threat to the coastline.

The amendment is a part of the National Flood Insurance Program reauthorization bill.

The bill is now being sent to the U.S. Senate.
