Florence County Sheriff's Office spokesman Mike Nunn says they are reviewing Chandler's Law in connection with an ATV accident Monday that claimed the life of 8-year-old Spencer McGee.
South Lynches Fire Chief Sam Brockington says paramedics rushed McGee to the hospital Monday morning, after he was thrown from the 4-wheeler around 11 a.m. on Old Georgetown Road near Coward.
Brockington said a deer ran out in front of the ATV, which led to the accident.
Nunn says the driver of the ATV was 13 years old. He says neither the driver nor McGee were wearing helmets.
Chandler's Law, a law that restricts what children can do on ATV's just went into effect last Friday.
The new law prohibits parents from allowing children younger than 16 to carry passengers.
Children 15 and younger are required to wear a helmet and eye protection while riding on ATVs. They must also possess a safety certificate indicating successful completion of 'hands-on' all-terrain vehicle safety course approved by the All-Terrain Vehicle Safety Institute.

Nunn says it's too early in the investigation to determine if any charges are possible.
