The Grand Strand Humane Society is holding it's annual "Kitten Palooza and Cats Too". They currently have 165 felines of all ages that are looking for homes.

The Executive Director of the Grand Strand Humane Society, Sandy Brown, says that cats make a great family member because "they'll snuggle up and cuddle, but you don't have to walk them."

Jessica Brown, a college student, was one of the first to attend the event Friday and took home Mr. Wiggles. She says that the reason she chose an older cat was because with her busy schedule she wouldn't be able to devote enough time to an energetic kitten.

Friday's event has a discounted adoption price of one cat for $25 or two cats for $40. That includes surgery, vaccines, micro-chips, and AIDS/Leukemia testing.

The Palooza only goes until 8:00 Friday night at the Grand Strand Humane Society on Mr. Joe White Avenue in Myrtle Beach. If you can't make it, don't worry, they have discounted rates for adoptions everyday.
