Bishop Michael Blue has written his first book titled "Building Credibility in Leadership: Principles for Secondary Leaders."

He's the lead pastor at the Door of Hope Christian Church and a teacher at Marion High School.  Blue is also a member of the South Carolina State Board of Education.

Bishop Blue says he wrote the book to help us realize we're all leaders in some way.

"There is nowhere from which an individual cannot lead. There is not a position in which an individual cannot lead. You can lead from behind. You can lead from within, beneath. Leadership is not a position so much as it is a function and attitude," said Blue.

Blue believes his professional background coupled with his personal experiences and integrity lend well to his new book.

"The book is designed to convey that we miss the point with regards to leadership is servanthood, but it's servanthood exerting influence to bring about a positive and lasting change," said Blue.

He says many books explain the importance of senior leadership, but few tell you how to go about building credibility in leaders and establishing a "culture of leadership" from the ground up.

Bishop Blue says his book provides viable examples of how to unleash true ministry potential by training staff members and laypeople to lead in truth.

Bishop Blue said, "No one leader can accomplish great things by himself or herself. There must be people who can buy into that vision."

The book has received some rave reviews from several accomplished ministers across the country , including Dr. Myles Munroe of Nassau, Bahamas.

Munroe writes in the foreword of Blue's book, "This erudite, eloquent and immensely thought-provoking work gets to the heart of one of the most important aspects of true leadership. It is indispensable reading for all progressive leaders and professionals who want to live life above the norm. This is a profound authoritative work, spanning the wisdom of the ages yet breaking new ground in its approach."

The book is available at Amazon.com and ChristianBook.com

You can also find it at the Store of Hope on 401 Martin Luther King Drive in Marion.
