Horry County Fire Rescue places second in regional competition

Horry County Fire Rescue's Team Reebok placed 2nd in the Relay Division at the Scott Firefighter Regional Combat Challenge in Charleston May 20-21.
Team Reebok includes team captain Michael Medeiros, David Howell, Aaron Windsor, Ken Norton and Michael Noreck. They are also a part of Team Horry which also includes David Clemens, Erin Pravel, Kris Armstrong and first-time Challenge competitors Curtis Armstrong, Mike Mabe and Andrew Wilson.
Michael Medeiros and Michael Noreck placed in the top 10 in the individual competition and Team Reebok took the silver in overall team.
"Our team trains all year long for these competitions and we are proud of everyone's showing," stated Michael Medeiros, wellness coordinator for Horry County Fire Rescue and team captain for Team Reebok and Team Horry, in a press release. "During this event, we had new team members competing for their first times and established members setting new personal records. We are looking forward to continuing the momentum, all the way to the Scott World Firefighter Combat Challenge in November, which is coming, again, to Myrtle Beach."
Team Reebok placed 5th in the 2010 World Competition.
Myrtle Beach Firefighters Dwayne Harris and Jason Chudzinkski both got silver in the tandem division. Team Myrtle Beach Fire was a top 10 finalist in the relay division and Lt. Steve Schuelller and Firefighter Tadd Rubin placed in the top 10 for tandem.
