ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) - A 1-year-old Rock Hill boy has been found safe after he was the subject of an Amber Alert following his mother's death.
Lt. Brad Redfearn said 25-year-old Shrece Charlete Robinson was found dead in a driveway Saturday night. Officers found her body after hearing gunshots while responding to another call.
Police issued an Amber Alert for her son Zaylen Carlik White who was with his father, 28-year-old Carl White. Redfearn says investigators thought the boy might be in danger because his father witnessed what happened to Robinson and appeared to be distraught.
Redfearn says Carl White was stopped on Interstate 20 in Aiken County and charged with drunken driving and child endangerment. Police didn't know whether White has an attorney.
The boy was unhurt and in Social Services Department custody.
