HORRY COUNTY, SC - The accident happened on highway 9 in Horry County about eight miles south of Loris just before 1:30 p.m Saturday.

Lance Corporal Sonny Collins with the Highway Patrol says the driver was traveling north when he lost control of his 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle and went into the median.

He was wearing a helmet.

Horry County Coroner Robert Edge says the victim is Thomas McDowell Harrelson, 53, of Mullins.

He later died at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.

Harrelson is one of four others who died in our area today from traffic accidents.
