You've probably heard of Sundance and Cannes, but Myrtle Beach is home to its own film festival and it starts Tuesday.
The 6th annualMyrtle Beach International Film Festival and Art Show runs through April 23rd at the Carmike Cinema at Broadway at the Beach.
Founder and director Jerry Dalton says film makers from all over the world will bring 120 films to the festival. The event used to be held in December, but he moved it to April because the weather is better.
Dalton also owns Dalton Pictures, a theatrical releasing and distribution company. He says independent films are becoming more popular because now they're easier to distribute. Instead of burning off reels, you can send films over the internet.
