Myrtle Beach City Council approved a second reading Tuesday afternoon outlawing feeding animals like birds and ducks at the city's parks.

The new ban comes after the city received complaints from some park-goers about the rising number of birds.

The ordinance also prohibits camping in public places, sleeping in the parks and using picnic tables for anything other than eating on them.

The Myrtle Beach Parks Director will now decide on a case-by-case basis which parks will have the restrictions.
