MULLINS -- Mullins City Administrator Pete Rogers says a few weeks ago they got a lot of rain causing the roof at the Mullins Police Department on North East Front Street to leak.
He says the damage is pretty extensive, so the police force is in the process of moving next door to the back of the Mullins Town Hall. Rogers says for many years the town hall housed the police department. In fact, he says there are still four jail cells there.
Right now, the city is waiting for estimates from a roofing company before they make a decision on whether to fix the roof or expand the town hall to permanently house the police department. Rogers says he hopes to know in the coming days what they will do.
In the meantime, the police department is expected to be completely moved into town hall next week.
Municipal court is being held at the town auditorium on North East Front Street.
