MULLINS -- A jury deliberated for about an hour Friday before deciding a North Carolina man accused of killing a Mullins mother in a murder-for-hire plot, didn't do it.
Prosecutors said Terrance Parms shot and killed Kanisha McLaughlin in 2008 outside the Imperial Motel in Mullins because she was a confidential informant in a case.
Jurors disagreed and returned the verdict around 5:30 p.m. Friday.
There are three other suspects facing trial in McLaughlin's death. No word on when they'll head to court.
