FLORENCE -- School leaders say an 18-wheeler ran into the back of a school bus on Savannah Grove Road in Florence County about 8 a.m. Wednesday.
The school district's public information officer, Pam Little-McDaniel, says there were 26 students on the bus and they were headed to Sneed Middle School.
McDaniel says paramedics checked out all of the students on-board. Six of them have been treated and released from the hospital.
The other students were bused to the school and re-examined by the school nurse.
Since then, we're told two more students have gone to the hospital and are still being examined at this time.
Officials say the driver of the tractor-trailer has been cited for driving too fast for conditions.
