Neighbors in the South Brook subdivision in Florence called police Tuesday morning after seeing four teenage boys walking through the neighborhood looking through cars.

Several patrol officers began looking for the boys and say they found one of them on Howe Springs Road near South Florence High School.

Officers searched him and say they found a lot of loose change in his possession. They also found a black bag near the suspect that held several cell phones, navigation systems, cameras, CD's and gold chains.

Police later learned the items were stolen from 11 cars in South Brook.

Officers then found two other teens believed to be involved in the thefts. They've charged Bobby Spates, 19, Mychael Jackson, 17, and a 16-year-old boy with 11 counts of breaking into a motor vehicle. The 16-year-old's name is not being released because he's a juvenile.

Police are still working to identify a fourth teenager involved in the incident.

If you have any information on these crimes, you're asked to call the Florence Police Department at (843) 665-3191.
