COLUMBIA, SC -- South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley took the oath of office one week ago. Wednesday night she will deliver her first State of the State address to South Carolina lawmakers and the people of the Palmetto State.

Wednesday morning she sat down with NewsChannel 15's Tim McGinnis to talk about her vision for the state over the next year. Haley says though the state faces an $829 million budget shortfall, the hole can be filled through budget cuts and government restructuring.

Gov. Haley's address will take place at the State House in Columbia and will be televised statewide on ETV.

The speech will help set the tone for Haley's honeymoon with legislators who frequently bickered with former Gov. Mark Sanford during his two terms.

House Speaker Bobby Harrell says it is clear Haley wants to get to work with legislators.  The Associated Press contributed to this report
