(AP) -- Gov. Nikki Haley said her first State of the State address will focus on her goals for budget cuts and smaller government.
Haley previewed her speech early Wednesday, saying she'll offer ideas for dealing with more than $1 billion in shortfalls in the state's current and upcoming budgets.
That includes cutting reimbursements for doctors and requiring more generic drugs for people on Medicaid. Other cost-cutting plans include consolidating some agencies and eliminating state funding for the state Arts Commission and South Carolina ETV.
Haley's speech also will talk about what she sees as the role of government and her plans for limiting what government does.
