Two Lancaster County men wounded in shootout

(AP) -- Two Lancaster County man have been hurt in a shootout in a dispute over cutting trees.

Sheriff's deputies say two brothers-in-law shot at each other about 10 miles northeast of Lancaster on Thursday as they argued about the tree harvesting. Deputies say the father of one of the men also started shooting and has been charged with attempted murder.

Deputies say 34-year-old  were flown to a Charlotte, N.C., hospital for treatment. There was no immediate word on their condition.

Sixty-five-year-old Dwight Spencer Evans is charged with attempted murder. Dwight Evans is Spoffard Evans' father and Richardson's father-in-law.

Investigators say the dispute started when a tree cutter was questioned by one of the brothers-in-law.
