Cold weather affects your tires

The cold weather can put wear and tear on your car tires.

Mechanics say for every ten degrees the temperature drops, you lose one pound of tire pressure and that could really affect how you drive.

"It can cause hydroplaning. It also can cause tire wear on your vehicle. Also fuel economy. It can affect fuel economy up to 20 percent," Don Scalzott, Auto Shop Manager, said.

Scalzott says you should follow the tire pressure guidelines for your vehicle which you can find on a sticker in the driver's side door.
