Both Horry County and Myrtle Beach firefighter teams have made it to the finals in the Scott World Firefighter Combat Challenge.

Competitions leading up to the finals were held all week at Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach, with opening ceremonies for the big event held Friday. Firefighters from at least five countries are competing to be the best in the world.

The course tests their strength and agility and it's very similar to what they encounter in real-life situations.

Firefighters are excited the finals are finally here, and add they really like the change of venue.

The competition ends with an awards ceremony in Celebrity Square at Broadway at the Beach at 6:30 Saturday night.
