At least 50 bikers hit the road Saturday all to help a good cause.
"Ride to Save Lives" poker run kicked off in the morning at a North Myrtle Beach restaurant.
The event was organized by a local high school student Kaitlon Camper as part of a community service project required by her school.
Kaitlon put together the event to raise awareness about suicide.
Materials concerning the issue were distributed to those who participated in the event.
One of Kaitlon's friends, Josh Walton, recently lost his one of his friends to suicide, "you know you just gotta watch out for the kind of people you think may want to do that if you see a kid that's being bullied in school then it's always good to help out that's why we're all here right now if we didn't have that we all wouldn't have to be here."
All the proceeds from the event will go to the Mental Health Association of South Carolina.
Kaitlon hopes the event will become an annual fundraiser.
