The Sheriff of Florence County is calling his partnership with McLeod health to help you get rid of any unwanted or expired prescription drugs a success. Saturday, the Sheriff's office held operation medicine drop outside of the Florence Civic Center, as the "She Magazine" event was going on inside.
Hundreds of people dropped off their unwanted or expired medications. In all, four tall boxes were filled with the prescription drugs. Sheriff Kenney Boone is pleased with the turnout, "we're very excited about this program, you can see it's been extremely successful. It's important because of our environment and also keeps these drugs off the street."
Next saturday, the Sheriff's office and McLeod health will sponsor operation medicine drop off at six locations in Florence from 10 am to noon. They include McLeod Health in Timmonsville on East Main Street; McLeod Urgent Care on West Palmetto Street; McLeod Health in Johnsonville on South Georgetown Highway; McLeod Medical Plaza on East Cheves Street in Florence; McLeod Health in Lake City on Ron McNair Blvd; and the Florence County Detention Center on Friendfield Road in Effingham.
