Several 9/11 events happening in our area

Here's a look at the 9/11 commemorations going on in our area on Saturday.
*The
Dead Dog Saloon
in
Murrells Inlet
is hosting its annual 9/11 benefit. Doors open at 10:00 a.m. and there will be free food and entertainment. You can meet
First Alert Meteorologist Mallory Nicholls
. Money raised will go to the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office and the Horry and Georgetown Counties' Fire and Life Safety Expo.

North Myrtle Beach
is hosting its candlelight memorial vigil at 7:00 p.m. They plan to light a candle or glow stick for each of the 2,974 victims. It's taking place at the Horseshoe on Main Street.
*In
Florence
, a Patriotic Parade starts at 11:00 a.m. at the main post office on 2nd Loop Road. Later, the
Parris Island Marine Corp Band
will put on a free concert at 5:00 p.m. at the
Florence Civic Center.

Coastal Carolina Shields
, a retired law enforcement organization, is hosting its annual memorial ceremony. It starts at 8:30 a.m. at the
Sand Dunes Resort Hall of Heroes
at 201 75th Avenue North in
Myrtle Beach
. A reception will be held following the ceremony. The service will be attended by law enforcement officials as well as members of the NYPD.

La Belle Amie Vineyard
in North Myrtle Beach is hosting "Concert America" from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. The concert features music by
The Andrew Thielen Big Band
. Admission is $8.00 per person. Those under 18 or over 80 get in free. Proceeds benefit the
Veterans Home & Resource Center.
You're also asked to bring two canned goods for area food banks to get $3 off the admission price.
*Murrells Inlet 2020,
Georgetown County Parks & Recreation Dept,
and the
Woodmen of the World
will unveil a new American flag and flagpole at
Morse Park Landing
at noon. It's being installed by the
Lost at Sea Memorial.
It's located next to the
Hot Fish Club
restaurant on Highway 17 Business in Murrells Inlet.
*The
Florence County Sheriff's Office
is holding a 9/11 Benefit at
Creek Ratz
in Florence. Live entertainment starts at noon. Displays will include fire trucks and Apache helicopters. There's also a Poker Run that begins at
Doug's Harley Davidson
and will end at Creek Ratz. Proceeds benefit the sheriff's office youth programs and the
SCDNR
youth hunts.
