The former Latta mayor has appealed his federal prison sentence for defrauding the federal government.

Last month, a judge sentenced Lenneau Berry to three years in prison.

A jury convicted the former mayor of defrauding the Social Security Administration of $234,000.

The U.S. Court of Appeals confirms the appeal, but won't say if or when it will be heard.
