Starting Wednesday, people can again make a bid for restaurant space on the Surfside Beach Pier that's occupied by Nibil's Restaurant right now.
Last spring, bidding opened, and one bid came from the owner of Nibils, the other from an LLC belonging to local TV personality Cecil Chandler.
Former town administrator Ed Booth and a former town attorney worked with Chandler on the bid. Chandler is employed by WPDE. He does not work in the news department.
After accusations of a conflict of interest, town council decided Tuesday night to throw out those two bids and re-open bidding.
Mayor Allen Deaton says bids will be accepted until October 26th. A decision on who wins the bid could be made that night.
