The Corrections Department says Derrick Gamble walked away from a job site in Florence Friday Night.
They found him about 11 p.m. Monday at a hotel off Highway 378 in Hopkins.
Gamble was serving a two-year sentence for traffic offenses at the minimum-security Palmer Pre-Release Center in Florence. He now faces a charge of felony escape that carries up to 15 years in prison. He's being held in the Broad River Correctional Institution in Columbia.
Eyvonne Gregg, 39, was found with Gamble at the hotel. She's now charged with aiding and abetting an escapee. She's being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center in Richland County.
The state Corrections Department, Richland County Sheriff's Office and South Carolina Law Enforcement Division worked together to make the arrests.
