A utility worker found a human skull behind Conway High School Wednesday afternoon, according to Conway Police Public Information Officer Catina Hipp.

Horry Electric workers were trying to find underground wires when they found the skull.

A pathologist confirmed the skull was human. He also said since there was a precision cut to the top of the skull and screws holding the jaw bone on, the skull was used for educational purposes.

Conway police are still investigating how the skull ended up buried behind Conway High School.
