Georgetown County deputies arrested a man who escaped from the Georgetown County Detention Center Monday.

They found Derrick Rivera at a home in Green Acres Mobile Home Park in Georgetown County at around 3:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Rivera escaped from the area of the Georgetown County Detention Center where inmates are brought in. Rivera ran into a wooded area behind the detention center.

Georgetown County deputies and Georgetown police looked for Rivera into the night.  The State Law Enforcement Division brought in a helicopter and an infrared camera to help in the search.  Deputies and police also used a bloodhound tracking team.

Rivera is being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.   According to the booking department, he's charged with armed robbery, burglary 1st degree, and assault and battery 2nd degree.
