A SWAT team raided a school in Florence county Tuesday to practice their skills.
The Florence County Sheriff's Office SWAT team trained at Dewey L Carter Elementary School off Highway 52.
Deputies tell us they train at schools because the facilities are typical of most commercial buildings.
The SWAT team trains once a month so they can be prepared for whatever situations they encounter.
"It's vitally important that we practice. We have to keep the edge . We can't allow ourselves to lose or get dull on our tactics where someone's life is in the balance," said Lt. John Crouse.
There are 18 members of the Florence County Sheriff's Office SWAT team.
Paramedics are also on the unit and train with the officers.
