AIKEN, S.C. (AP) -- Authorities say a man killed his girlfriend in their South Carolina home, then argued with his father for a few minutes before killing himself.

The Aiken County Coroner's Office told the Aiken Standard that 36-year-old Travis Miller shot 23-year-old Brandi Jordan in the chest Wednesday morning.

Authorities say Miller's mother, who lived next door, heard the shot, went to the home and saw her son trying to revive Jordan.

Investigators say Miller then got into an argument with his father and his mother heard another gunshot.

Authorities say the shootings happened less than 10 minutes apart.

Aiken County deputies say they are still investigating the incident.
