A woman who was left paralyzed while trying to help a complete stranger who was getting mugged will be recognized Monday.
In November, Brenda Williams tried to help a stranger who was being attacked at K-Mart in Myrtle Beach.
Police say the attacker, a purse snatcher, then ran over Williams as she tried to get the purse back.
She was left paralyzed, spent six months at the Shepherd Spine Center in Atlanta before returning home last month.
Monday, K-Mart will present Williams with a 50-inch screen TV during a community fundraising event at Williams' home in Conway.
She needs help getting a wheelchair-accessible van and paying some bills.
Donations can be made to the Brenda Dewitt Williams fund through Conway National Bank.
