NewsChannel 15 has learned the State of North Carolina is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the person who shot the principal of Fairmont Middle School last April.

James Hunt was shot in the face inside his car as he was driving to work.

Hunt has had several surgeries for his injuries and is scheduled to have at least three more.

Detectives on this case tell us leads have gone cold and they're hoping the reward money will generate new information.

If you have any information on this crime, you're asked to call the Robeson County Sheriff's office at (910) 671-3100.
