The Florence County Sheriff's Office announced Thursday, Kari Huggins Campbell, 27, is charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor (second degree) and Lewd Act on a Minor.

Campbell was arrested Thursday morning. She's a former teacher with Florence District Three.

According to the sheriff's office, Campbell had a sexual relationship with a student under the age of 16 for several months.

Wednesday, district officials fired a Lake City High School teacher after their investigation into a reported inappropriate relationship with a student. District officials have not confirmed that Campbell is the teacher they fired.
