The Florence County Sheriff's deputy at the center of a sexual harassment lawsuit filed against the department by a female officer retired Tuesday.

Mike Nunn, a spokesperson for the sheriff's office, said Lt. Larry Roscoe informed them 2 weeks ago that he would be retiring on March 30th.

The lawsuit filed by Investigator Jodie Lynch's attorney, says Roscoe sexually harassed Lynch on several occasions.

Sheriff Kenney Boone said Tuesday the matter was investigated by the South Carolina Human Affairs Commission and the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and no violations of the Human Affairs Law were found.

In a news release issued Tuesday, Boone said, "The experts in these types of investigations concluded that we acted properly and no violations of the discrimination law occurred. We are reviewing the complaint and our formal response will be filed with the court."

Nunn said Roscoe had been with the department for more than 15 years.
