Coker College inaugurates new president

Friday morning, Coker College held an Inauguration Celebration for Dr. Robert L. Wyatt. He becomes the 16th President of Coker College in Hartsville.
The ceremony took place in the courtyard at Davidson Hall on the college's campus.
Dr. Wyatt was Dean of the Breech School of Business Administration at Drury University in Springfield, Missouri.
He holds a Ph.D in accounting from the University of Memphis. He and his wife Nancy have a ten-year old daughter, Lara. Several dignitaries spoke at Friday's ceremony including Senator Gerald Malloy. He said Coker College is vital to the Hartsville community. Gerald said it's one of the largest employers in the city and it provides great culture.
Hartsville Mayor Mel Pennington says that Coker is one of the most celebrated colleges in South Carolina and a great contributor to the Hartsville community. Pennington said Dr. Wyatt comes with new ideas to further grow the college.
