The owners of Inlet Square Mall are ready to take the next step toward finishing the mall's renovation.

They announced Mashburn Construction Company of Columbia has been awarded the contract to finish the remodeling project.

Renovation ended abruptly in 2007, when the previous owners ran into credit problems.

The project will get back underway around March 1st.

A business owner near the mall says she's thrilled the project will soon be finished. "We need the traffic here. This is a wonderful place, lots of people come here and we definitely need more business here," said Patti Plyler, the owner of Merle Norman Cosmetics.

Attached to this article is an artist's conception of what the mall will look like.

The project is expected to take about six months to complete and will include updates inside and out, along with new flooring, entryways and skylights.
